At Herts Dance Studio, we proudly offer Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Ballet and ISTD Modern Theatre dance, designed especially for the early years.
Our Pre-Primary and Primary Ballet classes gently introduce students to the RAD syllabus, blending basic ballet technique with imaginative movement and storytelling. With the support of an experienced teacher, inspiring assistant dancers, and the use of creative props, students build confidence, coordination, and early literacy and numeracy skills while forming meaningful friendships in a warm, supportive environment.
In the Modern Theatre portion of the class, dancers explore the vibrant world of jazz and lyrical dance, the expressive styles seen on stage and in the West End. Using dynamic music, engaging props, and a structured yet playful approach, students develop rhythm, strength, flexibility, and musicality.
Throughout the year, students can take part in RAD and ISTD exams an class awards, performance awards, our annual studio show, and end-of-term Watching Weeks, where families are invited into the studio to celebrate their child’s growth and achievements.
By the end of each term, children will have gained a strong, well-rounded foundation in ballet, jazz, and lyrical dance, ready to continue their dance journey with confidence and joy.
