Terms & Conditions

Payment Policy:

​

  • Fees are due in advance and are invoiced for at each half term and should be paid within 14 days or receipt.

  • Refunds are not given on classes not attended by the student.

  • Fees will be pro-rata when a student begins midway through a term

  • If a class is cancelled for any reason we will try to reschedule the class. This may fall on a different time or date. In this case refunds will not be given.

  • If a class is cancelled and a rescheduled class not provided, a refund for that class only will be given.

  • All payments made are to be made via online banking or cash:

       Online banking: Please use the students name as a reference. Banking details on invoice provided.

       Cash: Should be received in a sealed envelope with the student’s name clearly marked on the envelope.

  • The payer will receive written notice from HDS regarding outstanding fees if necessary.

  • The student may not attend classes in a new term if previous term fees are outstanding unless an agreement has been reached with the teacher prior to the new term beginning.

  • Enrolled students may trial other classes, free of charge for the first lesson, but will be charged accordingly thereafter.

Additional charges:

​

  • From time to time additional costs may occur in the event of an exam enrolment, show costume fees etc. These will be known to you well in advance and you maintain the right for the student

        to not participate and therefore these fees will not apply to you.

Discount Policy

 

  • Multi class discounts are offered at a rate of 5%,8%,10% and 12%. Please see the Fees & Discount page for more information

Cancellation Policy

​

  • Please provide a half term notice of cancelation in writing. Failure to do this makes any issued invoices payable. 

  • Students may attend/continue classes while the 6 week cancelation period is valid.

 

Class Policy

 

  • Parents/Guardians are not permitted to watch weekly classes as this is distracting to those learning in the class. Parents/Guardians will be invited to watching days/studio performance events to

        see their child’s progress and enjoy them perform for you.

  • From time to time we may take a photo/video of your child to send to you so you may view their progress in class. Please inform the studio if you wish to opt out of this service.

  • Photography/videography may be taken during classes to be used on the studio’s website and/or social media platforms for marketing purposes. No personal information is ever used or linked

        to the images/videos used and you maintainthe right to request them be removed if you wish.

  • ADS is only responsible for students while they are in the studio . Parents/guardians must please supervise children before entering and after exiting the class.

  • ADS does not accept responsibility for any loss or damage to personal property.

 

Dress code and Uniform Policy

 

  • Dancewear is available to order through HDS. Please contact us of anything you may need and we'll be happy to help. 

  • Please ensure hair is pulled back in a bun for ballet and tied up, out of the face for all other classes for health and safety reasons.

Health and Safety Policy

 

  • HDS recognises the responsibility to ensure the studio space and all of those active in it are in a mentally and physically safe space. We recognise the responsibility of 

  • Dance is a physical art form and sport and while every effort is taken to prevent them, injuries can happen. HDS accepts no responsibility for injuries sustained except in the case of teacher’s

        negligence.

  • All teachers are fully insured, DBS checked and trained in First Aid with years of experience working with children and in the dance industry.

  • Staff may use appropriate physical contact in class for the purposes of teaching dance. Students will be asked consent before any physical contact is applied and we encourage you to inform us

       of any concerns you may have.

  • Please inform HDS of any pre-existing medical conditions or injuries prior to class along with emergency contact information.

  • Every student at HDS has the right to learn dance in a safe, friendly and encouraging space. We have a zero tolerance for bullying.

Safeguarding and child Protection Policy

​

  • HDS recognises the responsibility it has by working with children and young people under the age of 18 and is committed to taking reasonable steps to ensure safe practice and to protect

       children from harm, abuse and exploitation and our legal duty to act appropriately to any allegations, reports or suspicions of abuse.
